Our Story

The Accreditation Commission for Integrative Sciences (ACIS) was established to answer a critical need in the field of Trichology and Holistic Medicine: standards, recognition, and credibility. While practitioners and institutions worldwide were advancing education and practice, there was no unifying body ensuring quality, competency, and integrity across programs.

ACIS changed that.

Today, ACIS is the recognized global authority in Trichology and Integrative Sciences, setting rigorous standards that elevate professional practice and institutional excellence. Through our board arm, the International Board of Trichology & Holistic Medicine (IBTHM), we grant respected board certifications such as Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner (BCHHP), Board-Certified Trichologist (BCT), Board Certified Clinical Trichologist (BCCT), and Board-Certified Doctor of Trichology Science (BCDTS).

Our role is more than accreditation — it is about protecting the integrity of the profession, empowering practitioners with recognition that matters, and giving the public confidence in the services they receive.

With transparent processes, impartial governance, and a commitment to advancing the science of holistic health, ACIS ensures that those who carry our seal are among the most trusted and qualified professionals in the world.

Our Purpose

The Accreditation Commission for Integrative Sciences (ACIS) exists to advance excellence, integrity, and professional standards in the field of integrative health education and practice.

Our purpose is to provide structured accreditation and board certification for institutions and practitioners committed to rigorous training in holistic health, trichology, herbal medicine, functional wellness, and related integrative sciences.

ACIS was established to bridge the gap between passion and professionalism. As the integrative health field continues to expand, there is a growing need for clearly defined academic standards, ethical accountability, and competency-based credentialing. ACIS provides that structure.

We are committed to:

• Establishing measurable academic and clinical standards
• Promoting ethical and responsible professional practice
• Supporting institutions in building high-quality educational programs
• Recognizing practitioners who demonstrate advanced competency
• Elevating integrative sciences through credibility and structured oversight

ACIS does not exist to restrict innovation. We exist to protect integrity, elevate standards, and ensure that education and certification in integrative sciences are delivered with excellence.

Through accreditation and board certification, we aim to strengthen public trust, professional credibility, and global recognition within the integrative health community.

Our Mission

To safeguard the credibility, quality, and ethics of Trichology, Herbal Medicine, and Integrative Health Sciences through accreditation, certification, and continuing education oversight.

We empower institutions to deliver transformative education and practitioners to uphold professional integrity, ensuring that all who serve the public do so with competence, compassion, and accountability.

Our Vision

ACIS is the global leader in advancing excellence, integrity, and innovation in Trichology and Integrative Sciences. We set the benchmark for professional standards, empower practitioners and institutions with board certification, and shape the future of holistic health worldwide.
